About Me
Hello there, my name is Ian Pearson. I am a nerd, and there is really no other way to describe me. I have always enjoyed video games and learning, and I really have no problem with admitting it. I am a semi-professional gamer in the World of Warcraft series and my team is currently 59th in the US. I plan to switch schools this coming January and attend a video game college for coding, design, and 3D art/animation. My presence at Purdue North Central is merely a lack of my own judgement and understanding of my true passions. Sadly this means you will not see much of me, but perhaps you will play a video game I oversee in the future. The main issue in todays society is living without a clear understanding of purpose. Without purpose we live a meaningless life, and if you are not enjoying the one life you have, you are already dead. That is why I am switching majors and schools in January, I realized that I could not see myself as a drone for scientific pursuit. I personally do not care to understand what we do not know, because I don't believe in concrete knowledge in the first place, sadly, that is what science is all about. Another major issue I have with society today is the neglection of possibility. As I stated, concrete knowledge cannot be obtained, as there is always a shadow of doubt, and that doubt negates my definition of knowledge(to be 100% sure). Science tends to overlook that .000001% as unimportant, and I find this to be nothing but ignorant. If you touch a stove, and burn you hand, do you truly know that all stoves are hot? When you cross a bridge daily, and it holds your weight, do you truly know it will hold you this time? When you heat water, do you truly know that it will begin to boil at 100 degrees celsius? These are all concrete instances, and these instances are not to be seen as 100% certain because there are instances that the probable does not occur, and possibility takes the wheel. Just because the same result has occured millions of times in the past, does not mean that there is not a chance that you will have a different result some day. The only knowledge you can truly obtain are the things that you create in your own mind, those ideas are the only reality, and those realities are the only things that I have needed to enjoy the life I am living.
